Parking house – invited architectural competition

In its intended design, the car park is well situated in the intensely urbanized area of Kramare hospital. The site is located by the crossroads of Limbová/Vlárska/Stromová streets. Despite heavy traffic, public transport included, the crossroads is not directed by traffic lights. The entrance to the car park, limited by STN regulations, is set in a 25m distance from the nearest turning radius. The project translates its dynamic environment into an inclined plane. The inner face of the ramp serves as a staircase. At the same time, the building is designed within the minimum clear height to minimize view-shading from adjacent buildings. Location of the building is subject to the original terrain. The bottom floor is laid out as an open space and thus simplifies passing through the junction by creating space for pedestrian roads.
