KD Tureň

The concept consists of reconstruction of an existing building and extension by an outdoor shelter to serve as a platform to host culture events. The main idea was to recreate a metaphorically open building, as well as an open roof construction. The morphology of the shelter reflects its surroundings and opens the center towards the street. The entrance gate emphasizes the idea of a cultural community center. By moving the gate inwards, a small square viewing the street is created. The shelter includes the element of a fireplace, which is highlighted by a suspended chimney.
